Idol Corp, a US Vtuber agency owned by Brave, announced that performer Roca Rourin is on hiatus following a “severe accident.” Roca herself hasn’t appeared to issue any statement, with only management sharing an update on her status on social media and then retweeting it on her official . 

The Idol statement vaguely addressed the condition of Roca Rourin and updates on the Vtuber’s streams and merchandise. As she is hospitalized, she will not appear online in any capacity. Her merchandise won’t be sold for her birthday, which is December 10th. There is no date set for her return as of yet, but the company noted additional updates will be shared when available.

Roca Rourin ed Idol as a Vtuber in June 2023. She’s a part of the group Endless, which also includes Coni Confetti, Kai Saikota, Momo Otako, and Poko Rakun. Prior to the accident, she was an active performer with the company. Her last stream prior to the incident was an unarchived karaoke one, which aired on December 8, 2024. Prior to the accident, she had also taken part in a Backshot Roulette collab with Poko, Kai, and Coni.

Idol Corp has released a statement prohibiting the non-consensual training of AI models on its talents’ voices, images, and likenesses. This statement covers past content as well, meaning that if you previously used AI to create “fanart” of one of its VTubers, Idol Corp wants you to remove it immediately.

The full statement is available to read on Idol Corp’s social media channels. You will need to require written consent from idol management in order to use AI to create works that draw from idols’ images or voices. Even if management gives you permission, you cannot create any offensive or misleading content. Misleading content, in this context, likely means that you cannot use an AI voice program and pretend that it’s the actual talent saying something. At the end of the statement, Idol Corp thanks everyone for their understanding and cooperation.

AI usage in creative spaces has been a very controversial issue since the technology became widespread. Earlier this year, actors in the United States and Japan came together to protest the use of generative AI. Generative AI not only steals real humans’ work, but it can also be detrimental to their future career. Some companies may not hire people anymore if they think they can get away with using AI, and some malicious parties may use AI to pretend that someone said something they didn’t.

This is an update from Idol Corp’s previous policy regarding AI usage from fans. The change may be due to Brave Group’s acquisition of Idol Corp back in August 2024.

Five VTubers left idol Corp after its acquisition by Brave group US. Kattarina Qutie, Fuyo Cloverfield, Juna Unagi, Rin Penrose, and Meica05 will go independent.

This announcement appeared on the official socials for idol Corp. It starts with gratitude for the management team, whose cooperation is making the transition mush easier. Then, it goes on to reiterate that Brave respects the decisions of the individual VTubers in regards to the future of their career. Kattarina Qutie, Fuyo Cloverfield, Juna Unagi, Rin Penrose, and Meica05 have decided not to remain and a farewell stream for them will appear in November 2024.

In the previous announcement, Brave said that VTubers would be allowed to retain the rights to their models, characters, and social media s. This new announcement goes into a bit more detail in regards to that. Brave will not require the VTubers to pay an upfront fee for the rights to their characters. Instead, it will set up a revenue-sharing model with them that lasts for a year. This is, according to Brave, a way for them to grow their careers. The VTubers remaining will receive 3D model debuts some time later.

At the end of the announcement, Brave gives a quick overview of the company’s future. It will delay idolEN3’s debut, as well as debut four more talents later. It also stated that anyone waiting on pending merchandise orders should get them before October 15, 2024.

VTubers remaining at idol Corp include Nikki Rei, Momo Otako, and Lalabell Lullaby.

idol Corp announced that it has been acquired by Brave group US. You can read the entire notice via its official Twitter (X) .

The announcement starts with a history of idol Corp, as well as how it grew while maintaining its core values of transparency with the community and of its idols. However, because of how many talents there now are in the agency, it is difficult to maintain the same level of as before.

With Brave group US’s acquisition, idol Corp can continue its usual activities with even more resources than before. VTubers with idol Corp have the choice to stay or go indie. If they decide to go indie, they can retain the rights to their social media s, models, and characters. 

Near the end of the notice, idol tells fans that it and Brave group wish to resolve some issues regarding late shipments of goods, as well as open invoices. In Brave group’s announcement of the acquisition, it stated that former idol Corp CEO Aviel Basin has stepped down from his role. It does not seem like he is working at the company in any capacity.

Brave group started a partnership with idol Corp in December 2023. This is the likely reason why many commenters said they saw this coming. Other VTuber agencies part of Brave group include VSPO! and V4Mirai.

As of the time of writing, all of the idol Corp VTubers are still with the agency.

Idol Corp announced that Vtuber Yuko Yurei will graduate from the company. Her final stream will be on May 31, 2024, which will be at the end of a five-day marathon stream (ongoing as of the time of writing).

The statement acknowledged Yuko’s hard work in reaching all of her donothon goals during the marathon, and it said some of them will come out soon after her graduation. It went on to say that she was a cherished member of the company and the staff are sad to see her go. However, it wished her well and noted that she will “shine brightly wherever she goes.”

While Yuko retweeted the company’s statement, she has not shared anything herself after that aside from advertising her marathon stream. The last tweet she made before the announcement from Idol Corp was one teasing new content on her channel, as well as more marathon goals.

Yuko Yurei is an English VTuber and idol who debuted in November 2022 as a part of E-Sekai. Other talents who were part of this generation include Fuyo Cloverfield and Rin Penrose. As of the time of writing, Yuko has over 232k subscribers on her YouTube channel. Her content consists of gaming streams, covers, and vlogging.

Yuko Yurei’s final stream will be on May 31, 2024.

On May 25-26, 2024, Dokibird hosted a Vtuber WrestleTuber 2024 event with indie Vtubers, as well as people from Holostars English, VShojo, Idol Corp, Phase Connect, and the winner ended up being last minute invader Unnamed. This happened in the final seconds, following Gavis Bettel managing to sweep the competition and beat Filian in what ended up not being the final match. Dokibird also confirmed the event will return next year.

WrestleTuber 2024 included a number of surprises in addition to Gavis Bettel initially beating out the other Vtubers before being toppled by Unnamed. Before activities took place, Nana Asteria dropped a diss track song to intimidate her first opponent, Jurard T. Rexford. On the first day of the event, Mint Fantome appeared as a surprise caster alongside Dokibird. In addition, on the second day of the event Matara Kan appeared as a last-minute entrant and faced off against Mint.

Here’s the second day of WrestleTuber 2024, which included Matara’s appearance, Gavis Bettel’s brief win, and Vtuber Unnamed coming in to steal the championship belt in the final minutes.

WrestleTuber 2025 will appear next year, though Dokibird didn't announce dates for it yet.

Independent Vtuber Dokibird announced that WrestleTuber 2024 will take place May 25-26, 2024. In addition to other indie Vtubers, performers from Holostars English, VShojo, Idol Corp, Phase Connect, and who used to be in Prism Project will participate.

WrestleTuber 2024 will involve each participating Vtuber using U custom wrestlers based on themselves in WWE 2K24, with each one talking and streaming during matches. She noted Cyyu will be an announcer, Juna Unagi will participate as an interviewer, and the four casters alongside her will be Filian, Goldbullet, Snuffy, and Octavio. Dokibird will stream it on YouTube, but other participants may hold streams ahead of the event if they are creating their own wrestlers.

Here is the full list of everyone who will be participating. People who are part of agencies or used to be with Prism Project will be noted. The announcement also noted which people will make their wrestlers on stream and who will use ones made by fans.

On May 5, 2024, Idol Corp teased on social media that an existing Vtuber would the company, sharing a silhouette of the person who would be ing the company. Its May 6, 2024 Idol Alert showcase confirmed the performer is Enya Ignis with a rebrand, and she’ll appear alongside two other Vtubers for the music-focused group Encore.

Here’s the official Idol Corp reveal for Enya. It features a brief animation of the performer, while also teasing two other reveals.

And here is the full Idol Alert announcement from Idol Corp bringing up the Enya Ignis and Encore Vtubers reveal. Enya’s debut will happen first on May 11, 2024. People can tune in at 2pm PT/5pm ET. That will be followed by the second member of the group at 3:30pm PT/6:30pm ET that same day. The third member’s reveal is set for 5pm PT/8pm ET on May 11, 2024. 

As Enya’s social media and YouTube channels are already live, people can check in on her. She also shared a “Fire Music” playlist, with the showcase teasing that there may be hints at the identities of the other Encore in it. Enya’s debut stream placeholder is live on YouTube as well.

This follows another Idol Corp group's debut. The EternalS Spanish Vtuber group was announced at the end of April 2024. Its are Akugaki Koa, Lalabell Lullaby, Meica05, Ruby Runeheart, and Taiga Toragami.

Enya Ignis and two other Vtubers will Idol Corp as Encore on May 11, 2024, with things kicking off with an Enya debut at 2pm PT/5pm ET.

Idol Corp announced its latest Vtuber generation is EternalS, its first Spanish group made up of Akugaki Koa, Lalabell Lullaby, Meica05, Ruby Runeheart, and Taiga Toragami. To go along with this new generation, there’s also a new Spanish social media .

There’s still a bit of time ahead of the five EternalS Idol Vtuber ’ debut. They will begin streaming on May 3, 2024. We don’t know what time each debut stream will air. 

Of the five in the group, one of them is an established performer. Meica05 was formerly an independent Vtuber who started streaming on Twitch in March 2023. However, she has a number of cover song performances available on her YouTube channel. The most recent one was a take on the Kasane Teto Vocaloid song “Igaku.”

Idol Corp took to social media to announce that Vtuber Momo Otako is now be on hiatus. The reason for the break, which is indefinite, is to allow her time to focus on her health and recover. 

Here is Idol Corp’s statement about Momo. It didn’t offer any details about her condition, but did offer well wishes as she goes through treatment.

Momo herself also offered a brief statement on the situation. She wished people a Merry Christmas and thanked people for their understanding.

One of Momo’s last appearances was on a stream celebrating the six month anniversary of Endless. That is the second generation of Idol Corp Vtubers and includes Kai Saikota, Coni Confetti, Poko Rakun, and Roca Rourin. You can watch the show below.

Momo Otako debuted as a Idol Corp Vtuber back in June 2023. Her design was based on the dumbo octopus. In addition to playing games on streams, she would also perform songs. Her last cover was “Cute Girlfriend” back in October 2023.

This is the second bit of news surrounding the performers tied to Idol Corp. Back at the end of November 2023, the company terminated the contract of Project Star Vtuber Riro Ron for numerous violations.

Idol Corp announced that it terminated its contract with Project Star Vtuber Riro Ron and a member of its idol management team. It cited “dangerous and harmful” contract violations as the reason for the dismissal. 

Four specific offenses were noted as part of the reasons behind the Vtuber’s dismissal. Two of the causes involved Riro directly ing fans to solicit them for offline, private, and in one case an in-person meeting, with one involving “gifts from said fan in the total value of thousands of dollars.” The performer was also in a “secretive relationship” with the dismissed management team member. Idol Corp also cited the Vtuber’s “misuse of controlled substances” while streaming. 

Here is the full statement. In the second half of the announcement, the company noted the Riro Ron YouTube channel will be live until January 1, 2024, the Discord channels for her are already removed, and the company Discord server will have Donothon and merchandise refund request forms. 

Riro debuted back in February 2023 as part of the English branch. She was the only member of that generation. She’s the four member of the company to either graduate or be dismissed, with Emi Suika graduating in October 2022, Neo Sparkles graduating in December 2022, Lily Sin graduating in February 2023. Prior to this formal announcement, the Vtuber made an apology for her behavior during a stream and announced that she and the company mutually agreed to take a break.
